I’ll show you how I spent the first day at Beppu.
Today’s Timetable
Today is a day to move around in the morning and head to Beppu.
Today’s task is here.
1) Take a plane
2) Check in the Hotel.
Nothing to do!
Haneda – Beppu
Haneda Airport
I go to JAL lounge as usual… but I canceled my JAL card in tears because I fly less often in these days.
So I went to the cardholders’ pay lounge.
If you bring your Gold Card, you can use it for free and drink as much as you want, although there is no alcohol…!
I like to drink tomato juice here.
Oita Airport
Unfortunately, there were too many clouds so I couldn’t see the Mt.Fuji.
Instead, the shadows of the planes were reflected in the clouds, creating a rainbow pattern, which was very fantastic…!
Once at Oita Airport, bus tickets were sold right outside the exit.
Cash and credit cards were accepted.
Take the bus to Beppu Station.
The bus was a typical 4-seater bus and was not too crowded as it was a weekday.
Around Beppu Station
lunch
We arrived at the Beppu Kitahama bus stop around 10:40.
I hadn’t had breakfast and wanted to have lunch right away, but the restaurant opened at 11:00 a.m., so I strolled around a bit.
I never knew that Beppu has such a beautiful sea…
After relaxing for a while, I went to Toyoken, famous for its Toriten (chicken tempura).
The restaurant in the B1 shopping mall that
You can choose the taste Normal, Aosa, yuzu…
I chose the luxury of comparing tastes because they were all my favorite ones!
All were delicious!
hot spring
Since check-in time at the inn was 4:00 p.m., I decided to spend a little more time in the Beppu Station area and hit two hot springs.
Hamawaki Onsen
Furou-Sen

Beppu station Area
I wanted to see local food at Beppu Station Market, but it is currently under construction then.
It was a little sad, but I am looking forward to the renewal OPEN.
There was a hand bath in front of Beppu station. Probably famous.
To Kannawa area
It started to rain, so I headed to Kannawa to check in at the inn a little early, but it looked like it would be from 4:00 p.m. (there was no one there), so I had a cup of coffee and relaxed.
Inn “Daikokuya”
This time, I stayed at “Daikokuya,” a hot-spring cure rental room.
I booked this inn because I thought it was the perfect place for a free trip with good access, located near the steaming baths in the Kannawa area, hot springs at the inn, and unlimited use of Jigoku-steam.
It is not listed on other hotel reservation sites, so we recommend making an online reservation with Jalan!
What’s Jalan?
Jaran is Japan Hotels & Ryokan Booking Site!
It’s a common booking site in Japan.
I think the people at the inn are very personable and have a wonderful sense of distance without arriving or leaving.
Please see the article introducing the inn for more details.
Dinner. Jigoku-Steam
I bought it at a local store that has been around for a long time.
I thought the unit price was a little high, but I had to drop money in the travel area to enrich the economy!
I have fulfilled my mission to do so.
And then, the long-awaited Jigoku-steam!
I forgot to take a before picture, but the combination of Chinese cabbage, bean sprouts and pork belly is a definite combination!
I brought seasoning but it was prepared properly there.
It was a dish that could be mistaken for an ingredient for eating ponzu.
Afterward, I took a bath in the inn’s hot spring (a private family bath) to wash away the day’s sweat and moisturize my skin and went to bed early to prepare for an early morning walk the next day.
summary
Beppu, or perhaps Kannawa, is the best.
