A solo female trip in Beppu Onsen (hot spring) in 3 days and 2 nights “DAY2”

hot spring

I will show you how I spent the second day.

timetable

After wandering around on the first day, I didn’t really want to go here or do that, so I decided to relax for the day.

Morning walk

Early morning walks have become a daily routine lately.
Today I took the morning walk toward dawn around 5:00 am.

The goal is the observatory!

It was supposed to take about 20 minutes from our lodgings, but by the time we reached the observatory, the sun had risen.
The pictures I took along the way were the most fantastic.

I also took pictures of the morning scenery of Kannawa area while taking a morning walk.
I like to roam around in the morning when there are fewer people and I can move around as I please. (If I have the energy.)

The locals were also having a good day, taking early morning baths from around 6:00 a.m….!

breakfast

Breakfast is prepared at the inn after 7:00 am.
Miso soup with scallions (white miso) and black eggs…!

Since I was not enough, I decided to make a sumptuous breakfast.
I cook the rice during the walk and prepare the side dishes I bought yesterday when I return.

After breakfast, I read a book in my room, and when my stomach had settled, I went to the steam bath!

I thought it would be just a steam sauna, but after only 8 minutes of lying on the stone iris (leaves), I was sweating profusely.
The sweat was not sticky, but smooth.

Sweat overflowing from unused sweat glands.
I wanted to take a picture of it, but it was difficult.

After that, we left the hot springs after relaxing in the hot springs and cooling off in the open air.

grocery shopping

We went to a different supermarket than on the first day.

Super market Marushoku

it’s a normal price point.

I purchased 2,000 yen worth of food.

I thought it was an extravagant purchase, but it was a small price to pay for today’s lunch and dinner and breakfast on the last day….

The most anticipated is the local horse mackerel for sashimi .
(although it is from Nagasaki Prefecture).

lunch

After the hot springs and shopping, the rest of the day is just reading time.

When I feel hungry after a leisurely day, it’s time for lunch.

First, a single horse mackerel for sashimi is steamed with a dash of powdered broth.

It’s ready to go along with some kind of horse mackerel seafood soup.
Seriously, I ate it in seconds and noticed.

Isn’t this soup & rice the strongest collaboration?

So I made soup, rice, eggs for boiled eggs, chicken wings and bean sprouts dishes.

All of them were perfect!

If I had to guess, I would say that the horse mackerel soup & rice would be even better with a dash of soy sauce.

dinner

Now, it is strange to have lunch followed immediately by dinner, isn’t it?

But after lunch, this must have been another very busy day of reading and lounging around.

Dinner was steamed pork shabu-shabu style (bean sprouts, cabbage, and pea shoots) that had no mistakes, boiled eggs for tomorrow, and shumai (Chinese dumplings).

Pork shabu shabu is definitely, healthy! And it was delicious

And the shumai I had just bought…I couldn’t believe how chunky and delicious it was…it was so delicious that I could not stop eating it.

After eating dinner, I took a bath in the inn’s hot spring, touched my computer, read a book, and before I knew it, I went to bed and finished the second day.

summary

The middle day of a two-night, three-day great taste.

I have recently come to understand the luxury of doing nothing. Reading a book. Sometimes I touch my computer… I tried to spend my time in a luxurious way.

By the time I entered the steam bath, the trip felt like I already wanted to come back to Beppu once more.

Now, the last day to go! Enjoy!
