Last day already… sad

By the time you check out! By the time you leave! There are things to do!

I wake up in the morning bath

I woke up at 6:30 a.m. this morning after sleeping in late and took a refreshing dip in the inn’s hot spring.

Today, I wait for breakfast while calming the sweat that is still spewing from the hot water.

Today’s miso-soup made leek and nameko mushrooms.

At any rate, I put some nutrients in my stomach as breakfast and went to the spa the moment it was 8 o’clock!

steam bath

Yes, it is a repeat.

I felt so good yesterday that I went to the steam bath with the OPEN.

Today was the last day of the half-price bathing fee (350 yen) and people were crowded. (though there was only one person in front of me)Max 3 people were allowed to enter together because of the Corona disaster, but I shared a steaming bath with a madam.

At times, 8 minutes. She talked to me

I have rented an apartment from Kitakyushu and come here every morning for foot treatment. The steam baths here are very effective.

The irises here are fresh in the morning and a little dry in the evening, so it is best to come first thing in the morning.

The price is 700 yen higher than usual…I heard that since they raised the price, the number of locals who come has decreased.

We talked a lot in 8 minutes and had a good steamy time.

I felt very uplifted to experience a kind of “sauna conditioning” by relaxing in the open-air bath instead of soaking in the hot spring after leaving the steam bath.

Eight minutes in the Kamado, which is filled with the smell of Japanese iris, and the steaming hot spring bath that refreshes the sweat. I would like to come back again.

Breakfast before checkout!

Well, when I returned to the inn from the steam bath, it was 9:00. Check-out time is 10:00.
There are still some ingredients left in the refrigerator that I bought yesterday. So I did lunch and breakfast.

I managed to eat it all while whipping my full stomach, but it was just delicious.
The pork bun shop was closed until October, but I bought some frozen pork buns from the food store next door.

As I was eating, I bumped into a madam who was staying at the same time as me in this lodging and asked her about her trip.

The madam was visiting from the Kansai region and this time she stayed on a plan that included a meal.
The evening meal was extravagant, with a lot of seafood, including crab, shrimp, oysters, and fish.
Breakfast was a Western-style meal with bread, and the breakfast was so filling that we were told to take the sandwiches home for lunch.

I was a little envious when I heard that the oysters steamed in Jigoku-Steam must have been great.

I put breakfast on the table and rested for a bit until 10:00 a.m. I checked out and left the inn.

Hyotan Onsen

The trip ended at Hyotan Onsen.
I bought a discount ticket (780 yen → 500 yen) at the inn and came to the hot spring.

Although this is a long-established restaurant, it had been renovated and was very spacious and clean inside.

There was a sandbox, a family bath (private bath), and a rest area.
Inside the hot spring, there were too many types of hot springs to introduce, including an open-air bath, a steaming bath, an impaled bath, and a hinoki bath.

To be honest, I had the luxury of taking too many hot springs in the past three days, so I chose to spend my time in the open-air baths, spending my time dilly-dallying while watching butterflies, dragonflies, flowing water, and clouds.

Afterwards, I cleaned the dirt off my body, and after the bath, I put on a pack and went to the bathhouse with my complete body to use the computer.

back to Tokyo

The flight reservation was for 7:00 p.m., but we decided to change it to another earlier flight because of the luxury of not having to go to the hot springs any longer.

So I took the 12:44 bus in front of Hyotan Onsen to the airport!

12:44→13:00 Hyotan Onsen – Transportation Center (Beppu Port)
13:05→13:45 Beppu Port – Oita Airport

The Beppu Port landing gate and boarding gate are a little far apart, and you have to cross the national highway.
If you wait there, you will miss your ride!

At Oita Airport, there is a lounge after passing through the inspection area, which can be used free of charge if you have a Gold Card!

I quenched my thirst, wrote a few Blogs and stayed until boarding time!
